Eva was born on 4th January 1928 weighing 6lbs in Bilston, Staffordshire to James and Violet Sisson.  She had 2 brothers and 2 sisters with whom she had happy childhood memories of playing together.

As a child she enjoyed school very much, Christmas times, playing in the fields, swimming at the local pool, picnics and going to church.   Her favourite toy was a china doll whom she loved very much.  She enjoyed hopscotch, skipping, marbles and blowing the seeds of dandelions which she called (and still did as an adult) one o’ clocks.

She loved puddings as a child, and this continued through her life - she was known as “two pudding Jones” because if there was a choice of 2 she always wanted both.

When she was little she had diphtheria and had to have a tracheotomy to help her breathe.

She loved music – the big bands, Glen Miller, Jazz and light classics and her favourite actors were Vivian Leigh and Clarke Gable.
