Alf caught her eye romantically when she was 15 although they had actually known each other since they were 5 . At the age of 17 she nursed soldiers from the 2nd world war. She married Alf 2 years later when she was 19, on the 2nd August 1947 at St Mary’s Church Bilston. At that time nurses were not allowed to be married so she had to leave the profession she loved to be with the man she loved.
She loved all her children and had Graham, Kim and Sian. She has 6 grandchildren - Alexander, Michelle, Paul, Adam, Scott and Isabel and 6 great grandchildren – Billy, Shannon, Owen, Dylan, Luca and Rhiannon. Eva loved being with people and nothing pleased her more than being with her family, she often asked if everyone could live together. Some of her favourite times were playing with the grand children, she loved them all. Eva loved writing poetry and playing bridge was also a regular participator at Mothers Union.
Eva and Alf moved around the Country, due to Alf's job as a Chief Fire Officer. They enjoyed the life style this gave them, which included rubbing shoulders with film and TV stars from the 70’s. She enjoyed wearing the dresses Alf made her for these special occasions.
